The Role

As the Room Leader for the Tweenies Room, you will manage the day-to-day organisation of the room, providing strong leadership and guidance to practitioners in your team. Your focus will be on ensuring each child receives high-quality care and stimulating learning experiences tailored to their age and developmental stage.

  • Lead the smooth running of the Tweenies Room
  • Support, guide, and inspire your team of practitioners
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios
  • Plan and deliver engaging play-based activities in line with the EYFS
  • Create an environment that fosters curiosity, learning, and positive relationships
  • Support children’s communication, language, and personal development
  • Observe, assess, and plan for each child’s individual progress
  • Work in partnership with families to ensure continuity of care
  • Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures at all times

 

Skills and Experience

You will be an effective Room Leader with the following:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential
  • Previous experience as a Room Leader – essential
  • Experience in a nursery or Early Years setting
  • Confident understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, or willingness to complete upon starting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Warm, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to children and families
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and quality care

  • Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
